Cyprus

That we have only been to Cyprus once suggests that we did not warrant it worth another trip, but that is not so.

We stayed at The Laura Beach Hotel a few miles outside Paphos. The hotel was sheer luxury.

There were few facilities outside the  hotel although there were signs that the situation would change as restaurants and shops were under construction.

To get a taxi to Paphos was no problem and well worth the journey for Paphos is a full-blown resort. A visit to see the Roman mosaics is a must.

Cyprus is perfect for those interested in antiquities, with Roman ruins galore, and all  worth the trip. And you must travel into the Trudos mountains.

Whilst we were there we took a two night trip to Israel and Egypt and so much was packed into  the tour that we were exhausted but very happy when we returned. At night there was entertainment on the ship but each day was an early start - in Israel we saw Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem, stopping off at them all, and the following day we docked at Egypt and went to visit Cairo and its famous museum (Tutenkamen and all that) and on for a couple of hours at the pyramids. Hectic but worthwhile.

(Thinks - must go again sometime!)
